In 1946, a vegetable patch on the corner of Kapiolani Boulevard and Kaimuki Avenue was purchased to develop Market City Shopping Center. In 1948 we began serving Kaimuki and featured the first Foodland Super Market. Since then, we have grown to over 25 tenants, with multiple strong anchors. Over the years we have served your families with a wide variety of products and services, and we continue to grow to better serve you.
Community Support

• At least 2 scholarships awarded annually to worthy students in the Kaimuki/Kapahulu communities. We also support may worthy organizations in the State of Hawaii.

• Market City holds various special events during the year. These events serve several purposes including:
     - Promoting good community relations,
     - Helping to enhance business for tenants, therefore promoting more revenue to the
       shopping center.
